  2.                              { MONEY & BANKS }  V1.01
  3.                              Personal Banking Manager

  5.   { MONEY & BANKS }  *must*  be installed on a hard drive.    Do not attempt
  6.   to install to, or run the program on, a floppy drive.
  7.  
  8.   To install  { MONEY & BANKS }, type:
  9.  
  10.                  A:INSTALL <Enter>     or     B:INSTALL <Enter>
  11.  
  12.   There  *must* be at least 1.4MB of free space available on the target hard
  13.   drive or the install process will be incomplete, with indication of an er-
  14.   ror and an exit to DOS.   After installation, the program  uses about 850k
  15.   of space.   The install process will create a directory on the destination
  16.   drive, the default selection being  \MONEY.   The install process does NOT
  17.   modify your path, autoexec.bat, or config.sys.
  18.  
  19.   For users UPGRADING from any previous version,  answer  "N"  or  no to the
  20.   prompt asking if this is a new installation.   Answering "N" will  replace
  21.   all needed files EXCEPT data tables that you have been working on.    Your
  22.   data tables will remain intact and usable with upgrade versions.    Please
  23.   retain a current backup of your  \MONEY  directory(ies)  before performing
  24.   the upgrade.

  26.   NEW USERS without a previously installed copy  of  { MONEY & BANKS }  must
  27.   answer "Y" to the prompt asking if this is a new installation.
  28.  
  29.   UPGRADE users may need to reselect their default printer (on the Utilities
  30.   menu) as the printer codes table is replaced with the latest version.   If
  31.   you have edited the printer codes table, please retain a backup.

  33.   The four files included in this package are:
  34.       README.TXT (this file)     INSTALL.EXE     __001.EXE       __002.EXE

  37.   The following paragraph relates *ONLY* to bulletin board downloads:
  38.     If this program has been downloaded from a BBS,  the four files may  be
  39.     moved to a diskette from which INSTALL.EXE is to be used,  as indicated
  40.     above.  You may also run INSTALL.EXE from your downloads directory *IF*
  41.     you are installing to a *DIFFERENT* logical drive from the one in which
  42.     INSTALL.EXE exists.  Do not attempt to install TO a floppy drive.

  45.   After installation, read the documentation MONEY.DOC for further installa-
  46.   tion options, as well as usage of the program.   You will be given an opt-
  47.   ion to print out the documentation (about 40 pages) during installation.
  48.  
  49.   In the program itself,  press <Alt-M> to access the on-line documentation;
  50.   <F1> brings up context-sensitive help.
  51.  
  52.   After a *NEW* installation,  the following 15 files must be present in the
  53.   \MONEY directory for a complete installation:

  60.   Several index files will be built when the program first executes.
